Folklore carries the laughter, wisdom, and warnings of generations. The Mango Thief is my retelling of a traditional Gullah folktale, passed down in the South Carolina Lowcountry.

The original tale tells of wit, mischief, and survival — everyday people finding clever ways to navigate a world stacked against them. In retelling it, I wanted to celebrate not just the humor but also the deeper roots: resilience, cultural pride, and the art of storytelling itself.
